Ink Jet Printer
The fully programmable Ink Jet Printer provides for one line of
alphanumeric data on the rear side of processed documents. Printing up
to 100 characters at approximately 9 characters per inch, the amount
of information that can be printed is limited only by the size of the
document.
The state of the art ink jet print head produces large, easy to
read characters and is integrated with the disposable ink cartridge:

Thus, replacing the economical ink cartridge also replaces the print
head, ensuring fresh, clog free printing with every supply change. The
printer supports the full alphanumeric character set, including most
ASCII special characters:
~ ! @ # $ % ^ * ` ( ) +-_=| \ ? / < , . > ; : " ' { } ]
MICR Encoder
The patented design of the optional MICR Encoder on the Panini S1
provides for exceptionally high quality magnetic imprinting. Utilizing
very high resolution dot-matrix technology, the MICR printer on the
Panini S1 has virtually no moving parts, provides full-field encoding
across the entire length of the document in one pass, and is
exceptionally quiet. Encoder ribbon cartridges are a snap to replace
and have a life of over 70,000 characters each.
Endorser
The optional roll-on endorser supports standard rubber die-mats and
can be configured to print on the front or back of documents, with
precise left-to-right positioning. The quick-change roller design
allows the operator to switch from one die mat to another in seconds,
allowing varying endorsements to be applied on items from different
jobs or batches. Or, the endorser can be used in combination with the
Ink Jet Printer to print software-driven customized endorsements on an
item by item basis.
Pockets
Every Panini S1 comes with 4 outsort pockets on the base model.
Additional pockets can be added in modules for a total of 8, 12, or 20
pockets. Each pocket is motorized to enhance jam-free sorting.
Imaging Capabilities
The Panini S1 imaging functions allow you to benefit from all
the advantages of image based applications. The Panini image
capture option IC23 (Image Capture Release 3, Windows NT based) is
unique for quality and flexibility. Transfer of compressed images
to the application processor is via a high speed SCSI interface
and images are made available in real time for Intelligent
Character Recognition, Data Entry, Image Statements, Archiving and
many other image based applications. In addition to the advanced
IC23 capability, Panini also offers a lower cost image capture
option: which provides JPEG compression at 100 dpi, for lower
volume, archiving applications.
